On the initiative and with the support of the ELIT Faculty’s “Smart Lectures for Schoolchildren” project, representatives of the EGAP department held several meetings with school students.

On December 22, Kostiantyn Tyshchenko, a senior lecturer at the EGAP department, conducted a lecture for students of the Nedryhailiv Lyceum of the Nedryhailiv Settlement Council titled “Smart Internet of Things. Why is it smart, and what do things have to do with it?”. During the event, participants were introduced to the IoT concept, the principles of autonomous systems, and examples of smart devices used in daily life and industry. Special attention was given to the ability of modern sensors to independently analyze data and interact with users.

On December 25, Oleksandr Pylypenko, an associate professor at the EGAP department, held a session titled “What is this piece of metal made of? Modern ultra-expensive equipment for research.” The audience included students from the Nedryhailiv Lyceum and Sumy General Education School No. 27. The event featured a virtual tour of the Laboratory of the Center for Collective Use of Scientific Equipment at Sumdu. Students learned about high-cost equipment designed for studying material structures at micro- and nano-levels and explored practical applications of physical analysis methods in modern science.

These lectures are part of the career guidance work of the faculty and the department, aimed at promoting technical specialties and demonstrating the practical aspects of electronics and physics to future applicants.
